Building an Islamic Estate Planning Practice

As most of you know, over the past few years I’ve developed a niche law practice helping Muslim clients around the country with their estate and business planning needs. What started out as a small component of my practice has grown into an entire practice area in which we’ve planned hundreds of millions of dollars for clients and structured tens of millions in sophisticated charitable gifts. Back when I started my practice, however, I couldn’t find any good references to turn to that sought to bridge classical Islamic law with modern estate planning techniques so when my friend and fellow estate planning attorney Ahmed Shaikh suggested we write a book together on the topic I agreed.

The Process

It ended up taking over three years, hundreds of hours of research and writing, and multiple rounds of peer-reviews and revisions but I couldn’t be happier to share that our book, Estate Planning for the Muslim Client, was recently published by the American Bar Association!

Where to Buy It

The book is available for purchase through the American Bar Association Website: https://www.americanbar.org/products/inv/book/347245059/
